Part 1: 2018 Trends From A&S Homes’ Design Centre

Submitted on

Lynn Fenwick, the A&S Homes Design Centre expert, has collected 2018’s top decor trends, and she’s letting us share them with you.

Healthy living

In 2018, people are looking to curate their spaces in ways that promote wellness and healthy behaviours, using air, water, light, nourishment, fitness, comfort, mindfulness and personal growth as inspiration.

Natural

Fenwick says natural wood surfaces will reign over painted this year. She says wood surfaces in every tone are becoming more popular and will be featured in all areas of a home, including buffets, countertops, furniture, tables, islands, and lamps.

Handmade

Handmade ceramics are expected to be big in home accessories, especially those with sculpted elements and matte glazes.

Texture and warmth

Fiber art, thick upholstery, and warm paints are all on-trend this year—plus a mix of metals, texture and sheen.

Rich colours, like warm greys, browns, and yellows are being used give homes a decadent feel.
